I put a new batch of sugar syrup in the hive feeder today, and checked the bees while I was there. I'm feeding them 1:1 sugar:water (8 cups of water and a 4 pound bag of water make 2 quarts of syrup). The bees are doing really well! I discovered mildew in the hive-top feeder, though: I had to scrub out the feeder with hot water and make up a new batch of syrup with some Honey-B-Healthy added. Hoping that will do the trick.
